The screenshot from West Coast Sailing is a good reference for the gear we need to start the season. Minimally, you need a life jacket, a wetsuit, spray gear, footwear, and non-cotton layers to stay warm. Let us know if you are having difficulty and we'll try to help.
Links to helmets - KSRF has a few extras, but they may not fit well and are not necessarily fashionable. We are more likely to recommend a helmet in windy conditions this season so you may want your own.
Padded Headbands can be a good alternative - Full90
Magic Marine (Sailing Proshop) $80
SLAM (APS) $65
NRS (West Coast Sailing) $40 and $90 (See information about the $40 helmet from the vendor here)
Local places to find gear:
Silverdale/Bremerton
REI (expensive)
West Marine (near Lowes in East Bremerton)
Sportsman's Warehouse (near Costco)
Fred Meyer, for a cheap watch
Poulsbo
Longship Marine Consignment (downtown)
Olympic Outdoor Center, Port Gamble (kayaking gear is very similar)
Seattle
Fisheries Supply, near Gasworks Park. Tell them you are on a high school team and ask for a discount.
