Welcome to our High School Sailing Team Site
Capsizing Practice in Olympic HS Pool - February
19th at 7PM
Registration forms are available
with the link below - we hope our team will be registered with Parks and Rec by
the 19th.
For Students in Central Kitsap
Our program is available to secondary school
students in the CK district. The season for high school sailing is March
through May. In our 4th year, we have many returning students who attend either CK
Junior or CK High. We welcome students from across the district to join us
this year.
No prior sailing experience is required, except we must limit 7th grade students to those who have taken sailing lessons in either ours or a comparable program. This is due to limited space in boats and the priority on high school aged students.
Our sailing program is operated through Kitsap County Parks and Recreation. The Northwest Interscholastic Sailing Association (NWISA) is the organization that governs high school sailing in the region. Their website lists the teams we compete against and provides a schedule for regional activities.
Practices - Waterfront Park in Silverdale | Check Conditions - wind speed and webcamWe always have practice, though we might not actually sail if it's too windy. Practices are important for gaining the skills necessary to sail in Regattas.
Rain and cold do not keep us from sailing. Consequently,
sailors must have appropriate gear for sailing in
winter conditions.

Weekend Regattas
We compete nearly every weekend from the beginning of
March until late May or early June. While attendance at these regattas
isn't strictly mandatory, it is the point of the sailing team. Those
sailors who attend most or all of the regattas learn and improve far more than
those who miss regattas.
