Registration for 2025 Adult/Family Lessons has closed. Thank you for your interest, and check back for future sailing opportunities!
We are excited to introduce a new program for adults and families to learn to sail in Kitsap County for Summer 2025! This is a unique opportunity for your children (ages 8+) to join you as you learn how to rig and operate a sailboat. Discounted pricing is available for families registering more than one participant. See below for further details. |
Course DetailsOver the course of four evening sessions, aspiring sailors will learn basic sailboat handling in one of KSF's fixed keel sailboats (Lightnings, Quest, C420).
Our skilled instructors are U.S. Sailing Level 1 certified, and are talented members of our Kitsap High School Sailing teams. Sailor/Instructor ratio is 3:1. Through both on-shore and on-the-water activities, our instructors will teach you proper boat rigging and knots, how sailboats work and how to find the wind, navigation, boating safety, and more. Our emphasis will be hands-on sailing experience, with all participants getting to experience sailing as both crew, and skipper! *This course does not grant a U.S. Sailing Keelboat Certification, however we will discuss/cover many of the topics that are required for such certification. **Completion of this course grants you the opportunity to attend open sailing nights throughout the summer. Invitations will be sent to qualified participants via email. |
